Want to arrive at your destination before noon, sit beachside with a frozen drink, and take in all the sights? Today’s Destination of the Day- Key West, Florida. It’s been one year since we visited during the Song Writer’s Music Festival. This small island offers it all; sightseeing, diving, fishing, watersports, golf, and shopping. Then as your day comes to a close start the evening off with a cocktail and your loved one watching the sunset at Mallory Square.
This is an easy city to travel to; the international airport is just minutes away from your hotel, everything is within walking distance, and if you feel like a little adventure you can rent mopeds on any corner. Key West is a foodie’s dream come true, so many delightful restaurants to choose from spread throughout the city. Shop and walk on Duval Street until your tired feet drag you into one of the famous bars like the Green Parrot. Feel like fishing, we have you covered there as well, land a tarpon within minutes on some of the prettiest waters you have ever feasted your eyes on.
Key West is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway, wedding destination, honeymoon celebration, or just a long siesta from work. Want to feel like you are part of action even when sitting at your desk, check out Duval St.’s live cam http://www.liveduvalstreet.com/

Where to play?
We decided to venture into the flats to do a little fishing and Captain Rick Mager came highly recommended. The boat ride in itself is so enjoyable, after about 30 min we arrived at our fishing spot and minutes later my hubby landed his first Tarpon. What a fight that was, so fun to watch. I would highly recommend fishing while in Key West.

Where to drink?
Captain Tony’s Saloon
Old-school pub frequented by famous fans back in the day, now hosting festive theme-night parties.
Famous legends such as Ernest Hemingway, Truman Capote, Tennessee Williams, Shel Silverstein and Jimmy Buffet have frequented this bar. Captain Tony, was a detailed as a larger than life character who was often described as a dropout from a Hemingway novel.
This bar was originally built in 1851, so if these walls could talk, I am sure you would never leave your barstool.
